AfterHVAC Company in Seguin, TX
Seguin homeowners deal with two completely different housing realities: historic pier-and-beam homes near the courthouse square that were never designed for central air, and newer slab-on-grade subdivisions built for San Antonio commuters with builder-grade systems already showing wear. We’re Coldharbour Heating & Air, and our technicians handle both every week. Call us at (817) 402-2972 when you need AC repair, furnace repair, or a full system installation in Seguin. We answer live, 24 hours a day.
Why Seguin Homes Are Different
Seguin sits in the Guadalupe River valley, and that geography changes the work in ways San Antonio techs rarely see. Summer temperatures here routinely hit 98-102°F from June through September, but the river corridor pushes humidity higher than drier inland areas at the same latitude. That means longer run-times, higher energy loads, and accelerated corrosion on coils and refrigerant lines in low-lying neighborhoods near the water. We’ve replaced condensers in riverside homes that failed years before identical equipment on higher, drier ground just a few miles away.
The housing stock splits sharply by era. Around the historic courthouse square and along the Guadalupe River corridor, pre-WWII and mid-century pier-and-beam homes have thick plaster walls, minimal attic depth, and crawl spaces that were never meant to hold ductwork. Retrofitting central air into these structures means creative routing, compact equipment, and patience. On the north and east edges, 2000s-2020s slab construction dominates, but the builder-grade Lennox and Goodman units installed in many of those subdivisions are hitting their first major repair cycle now.
Winter Storm Uri in February 2021 also changed what Seguin homeowners ask for. The freeze destroyed unprepared heat exchangers and pipes across the region, and since then we’ve seen strong demand for dual-fuel heat pump systems and proper winterization on equipment that was originally sized only for cooling loads.
Our Main Seguin Services
Most calls we get from Seguin fall into three categories. Each has its own dedicated page with deeper detail on pricing, common failures, and what to expect.
AC Repair in Seguin
When an AC quits in Seguin during July, the combination of heat and river-valley humidity makes it more than uncomfortable. We carry capacitors, contactors, and refrigerant for same-day recovery on most systems, including Trane, Lennox, and Goodman units we see frequently in local subdivisions. For historic homes with original duct retrofits, we also diagnose airflow restrictions caused by cramped attic runs. AC Repair in Seguin
Furnace Repair in Seguin
Seguin’s winter freeze risk means furnace and heat pump failures can escalate quickly. We repair gas furnaces, electric heat strips, and heat pump defrost boards, and we stock igniters and flame sensors for Rheem and Goodman systems common in the area. After Uri, we also inspect heat exchangers for cracks caused by overwork or freeze damage. Furnace Repair in Seguin
AC Installation in Seguin
New system installs in Seguin require two completely different approaches: compact, high-velocity solutions for historic pier-and-beam homes with no duct infrastructure, and right-sized, efficient replacements for newer slab homes where the original builder-grade unit is failing. We perform load calculations for both, handle rebate paperwork, and schedule installs with a firm date, never a same-day promise. AC Installation in Seguin
