AfterHVAC Company in Somis, CA
Most HVAC calls we get from Somis involve systems fighting off agricultural dust, propane fuel conversions, or aging ductwork stretched across large rural parcels. Coldharbour Heating & Air dispatches technicians trained for exactly these conditions, with live phone coverage at (817) 402-2972 around the clock. Dispatch and scheduling are coordinated from our Los Angeles office, and crews serve Somis locally with the Kingswell Guarantee written on every job.
Why Somis Homes Are Different
Somis sits in an interior Ventura County valley where summer afternoons run 10-15°F hotter than coastal Ventura, yet winter frost on the valley floor demands real heating capacity. That wide annual swing rules out the undersized systems that pass in beach towns.
The housing stock skews toward mid-century ranch homes and custom builds on large agricultural lots, often with detached equipment structures needing separate HVAC consideration. Ductwork runs frequently exceed suburban norms, and many older installations predate modern Manual J load calculations.
Natural gas infrastructure is limited or absent across many parcels, so propane-fueled HVAC and dual-fuel heat pump systems are standard here. Every job begins with confirming fuel source and tank access. Permitting flows through Ventura County Building and Safety, not any city department.
Santa Ana wind events in fall bring extreme heat and single-digit humidity that spike emergency calls for failed capacitors and clogged condenser coils. Avocado and citrus grove dust, plus harvest-season particulate, loads outdoor coils and return-air filters far faster than suburban settings. Our techs routinely find coils caked solid within one season on properties adjacent to active groves.
Our Main Somis Services
These are the three calls we handle most often in Somis, each with its own dedicated page and local pricing.
AC Repair in Somis
AC repair in Somis means diagnosing systems choked with agricultural dust, capacitors stressed by Santa Ana heat spikes, and refrigerant lines running longer distances than suburban norms. We stock common parts for Trane, Lennox, Goodman, and Rheem systems so most repairs finish in one visit. Every repair comes with our written 365-Day Done Right Promise. AC Repair in Somis covers typical failures, pricing, and what to expect when you call.
Furnace Repair in Somis
Furnace repair here often involves propane conversion troubleshooting, ignition systems in detached structures, or heat exchangers in units sized before modern load calculations. Valley frost events mean a failed furnace is not a comfort issue, it’s a pipes-and-plants emergency in January. We carry ignition assemblies, flame sensors, and propane regulators for same-day resolution on most brands. Furnace Repair in Somis details what fails, what it costs, and how fast we can be there.
AC Installation in Somis
New AC installation in Somis requires confirming electrical capacity for large-lot duct runs, selecting propane-compatible or dual-fuel equipment when gas is unavailable, and sizing correctly for that 10-15°F inland heat premium. We perform Manual J load calculations, handle Ventura County permitting, and schedule installation once equipment is ordered, never promising same-day turnaround on a job this involved. AC Installation in Somis explains equipment options, pricing, and the process from estimate to startup.

FAQs About HVAC Company in Somis
No city permit is required because Somis is unincorporated. All HVAC permitting goes through Ventura County Building and Safety. We handle the paperwork and inspections as part of every installation, and we know the county inspectors who cover this area.
We answer live 24 hours a day, and Somis calls are routed to the nearest available technician. Most emergency repairs are scheduled same-day or next-day depending on current demand and your location within the valley. Call (817) 402-2972 to check current availability.
Somis runs hotter in summer, sees harder Santa Ana wind events, and faces agricultural dust loading that coastal Camarillo simply does not experience. Those three factors stress capacitors, compressors, and condenser coils beyond what the same equipment faces near the beach. More frequent maintenance and earlier filter changes are the practical response.
